Dobson Telephone makes donation to American Legion renovation

MCLOUD, OK – Dobson Telephone Company made a $1,250 donation recently to the American Legion for sheetrock. “Dobson Telephone realized there was a need there and were grateful to help fulfill the need to get the project completed,” Dean Hill, general manager, said. However, renovations are moving slower than expected, Wes Elliott, legion member, said. “Companies like Dobson have stepped up and taken on a good burden of the costs, but we are still around $7,500 short,” Elliott said. One problem was solved for heating and air when Chris Foote donated the duct work and installation of the new units. The Iron Plainsmen Motorcycle Club of Oklahoma City recently sponsored a poker run and auction to benefit the Legion renovation project. “From a personal point of view, I am glad to see the renovations occurring. My dad was an original member when they started the building,” Hill said. Citizens and anyone interested in helping may make a donation at BancFirst in McLoud, or contact Elliott at Elliott Pawn to sponsor a window replacement.
